Chili, now 10 1/2 and retired, was once a 65 pound chocolate Labrador retriever female that had a lean, athletic build and a very dark chocolate coat. She has an excellent disposition and works very hard in the field. She passed 4 straight Junior tests for her Junior Hunting Retriever title. There are 15 Field Trial and/or Amateur Field Trial Champions, 3 AKC Hunting Retriever titled dogs (1 each Junior, Senior, Master), and 1 Show Champion in her mostly “black Labrador retriever” pedigree. Chili's sire “Dean” was a 2001 National Amateur finalist and has qualified for numerous National Open and National Amateur events during his career. Chili’s grandfather River Oaks Way-Da-Go Rocky is the sire of numerous field competitors, including FC Nandool’s Elwood Blues, the latest chocolate Labrador retriever to receive an FC.
Chili was an excellent mother and delivered 4 litters, included our first litter with Rip that produced out stud dog Sage. She is still an excellent gun dog and loves to get her birds!
