Brown Dog's Gamebird Gumbo ("Roux") is our newest dam at Brown Dog Retrievers. Roux is out of our dam Chili and sired by FC Watermark's Texas Welcome MH, the Super Retriever Series champion in 2007. Roux is a lean and athletic 60 lb female, and is an excellent gun dog and upland hunter.

Hillcountry Southern Anna Bell ("Bell") is a 70 lb muscular, athletic female with a dark chocolate coat.

Retired Dams

Wind River Hoppin' Hobanero JH ("Chili")

Chili is now 10 1/2 and a retired dam at Brown Dog Retrievers. In her prime, she was a 65 pound lean athlete with a very dark chocolate coat. She has an excellent disposition and works very hard in the field. Chili is still a great gun dog and retrieved several birds last season in 2010.

Brown Dog’s Once in a Blue ("Luna")

Sadly, we lost Brown Dog's Once In A Blue in 2005. Luna was an athletic, muscular, hard charging girl that loved her birds! Luna had perhaps one of the finest pedigrees of any chocolate female. She was an excellent mother and whelped 4 great litters before her death. Luna has been sorely missed here at Brown Dog Retrievers.
